5/27/08- To say that the past few months have been successful for brothers Author, Jon and
chandler Jones would be quiet an understatement! All three are past tigers and all three are
making their mark in a big way!
Chandler is the most recent tiger to collect such accolades by accepting a full football scholarship
to Syracuse University and will be a freshmen this fall on a much improved and youthful SU
squad!
Older brother Author will be a junior nose guard on the same squad and is piling up the pre
season attention! After being nominated for the Outland trophy watch list a few weeks ago which
goes to the best interior linemen in the country author can now add the Bronco Nigurski award
which is given annually to the best defensive player in the country!!! If you are any type of UE
football fan you are sure to be keeping an eye on the e TV guide to see when the orangemen are
playing this season to watch these two former Tigers do their thing! Good Luck Boys!!!
The third Jones brother Jon is making a HIT of his own and its outside the football arena!!! Jon
is a rising star in the world of Mixed Martial Arts as a member of CNYMMA'S BombSquad and
at 4-0 he is turning heads everywhere he fights! Training under nationally recognized fighters Erik
Charles and Tamdan McCrory Jon is on his way to a very successful career in the rising sport of
MMA. Good luck Jon, your tiger family is watching!
5/7/08 - The UE Football Booster club has announced they will hold a pancake breakfast on June

4-1-08- It sure doesn't get any simpler then this...When scout.com comes calling, you listen! This
is what happened to three of our tigers and the result was a trip to pittsburgh and a chance to
perform with 200 of the most elite high school football players on the east coast! Jared Veruto,
Jordan Thomas and Gary Beddoe were invited to this past weekends Scout.com / Under Armour
HS Football combine @ the UPMC Indoor sports complex. (Pitt. U and Steelers indoor practice
facility) To be invited to this event is a very big honor and to be side by side with some of the best
high school football players on the east coast was a true test. Not only did these three take on the
opportunity but all three realized fast that they were stacking up and turning heads! Jordan
Thomas (6'2" 190lbs) ran the second fastest 40 yd dash at the combine running a 4.46 on a very
thick carpet (the fastest time was a 4.45) He had a 36.5" vertical leap and only being a soph.
stood tall with these upperclassmen Gary Beddoe(6'1" 229) had great times in the cone shuddle ,
put up great numbers in both the broad jump and the 40yd dash (4.86)and he ran tough routs all
day with some of the best receivers and d-backs i have ever seen! Jared Veruto (6'1" 293) came
into the combine with the most pressure and the most on the line and as we have seen so many
times in the past this young man steps to the plate! He had great scores in both shuddle runs, the
vertical leap and the broad jump. He ran a 5.01 40yd dash and was the most put together linemen
in camp. We can all be proud of what these three did on such an incredible stage with these elite
athletes but having been there all weekend with these three young men we can be even prouder of
the class they showed!
